Even the pool slide has acquired an eagle.

KURT GEIGER LONDON’s Meena takes one of footwear’s least ceremonious forms and gives it an improbable little crest. A broad quilted strap crosses a moulded footbed, centred with the brand’s eagle head in gleaming metal—the sort of unnecessary flourish that rather improves the whole proposition.

The basic form returns here in a growing assortment of colours and finishes: Black, Bone, Salmon, Pink, Blue and Purple in quilted uppers, joined by Blue Denim and Pink Bleach Denim versions that exchange the smooth surface for faded woven textile. Hardware shifts with the treatment, from antiqued brass on many of the quilted and Blue Denim editions to antiqued silver on Pink Bleach Denim.

The eagle, meanwhile, remains firmly in residence.
