KURT GEIGER LONDON’s Octavia takes the familiar black biker boot and gives it something considerably less utilitarian to wear. Crafted from shiny black leather, the ankle-high silhouette is wrapped with a broad statement strap set with seven oversized multicoloured crystals, each surrounded by a scattering of smaller stones.

The otherwise substantial construction is kept relatively restrained: a rounded toe, low block heel and inside zip provide the foundation, leaving the jewelled ankle to do most of the talking. The crystals shift through saturated jewel tones against the black leather, turning what might otherwise have been hardware into something closer to an enormous bracelet. Kurt Geiger records the heel at 5 cm and notes the delicate nature of the embellishment.
