BRONX AND BANCO — Dahlia Strapless Blue Yellow Multi Maxi Dress

The garden has gotten out of hand.

BRONX AND BANCO’s Dahlia does not so much borrow from the flowerbed as allow it to take over. Across a pale blue ground, yellow, blue and white florals spread over the body in dense sequin embroidery, turning the surface of the gown into something between textile and overgrown garden.

The strapless bodice is boned to give structure beneath all that vegetation, before falling into a long column of lightweight mesh. Partial lining leaves portions of the embroidered ground sheer, allowing the floral pattern to appear suspended against the body. An exposed zipper runs down the back, providing a deliberately visible interruption to an otherwise thoroughly embellished surface.

Some gardens resist pruning.
